thoughts of a lovely gal

So friends it looks like my little injury from the Blink show is a little more serious than I thought….

Went to a doctor today because my instincts, and the wicked pain in my calf, thought I needed another option — aside from google and everyone I had come in contact with this past week.

Noticed this morning I could not go on my tiptoes, and man I NEED to be able to go on my tiptoes!

So I hobbled myself over to the urgent care and within moments of seeing my ankle, the doctor suspected I had torn my Achilles tendon. Kind of an important muscle in your leg.

womp, womp, woooooooooomp.

So as it turns out I will not be back on my feet as soon as I would have liked. Have to see an Orthopedic surgeon this week, and please send out good vibes that I do not need surgery. I hate my crutches and they make me sad.

Anyway this is the first ‘real life’ injury situation that I have had to deal with without my family around. Made me really appreciate all the times my mom/dad had taken me to the doctor or simply gone with me to keep me calm. All the times my mom picked up my prescription at the pharmacy, so I could go right home and get some rest. And all the hugs I knew I would come home to.

I got a little teary in the doctors office when they were making me a splint for my leg. I was not in a lot of pain, I just knew I was doing this all on my own, no mommy to help me to the car or drive me home.

Moving away from home felt so real today and the fact that I am growing up.

With all of that being said my roommate, miss Katie (aka Tink), took care of me the moment I got home! I have also had many friends checking up on me and send get well messages.

Oh, and my mom was texting me the entire time I was in the doc office.

Anyway has been an awfully stressful day and Tink is making us brownies as we speak! Yummy! I can finally relax.
